3 Questions to Justin Klerk | FMS Rotterdam

1. What is your job at FMS?

I serve as a Team Leader in our container department, overseeing our team's performance. My responsibilities encompass ensuring accurate data entry, timely customer follow-ups, monthly financial result checks, and managing buying and selling contracts to provide the best deals for our customers.

2. How was your professional development at FMS?

FMS marked my entry into the professional world after a gap year post my studies. Initially focused on import shipments, my role evolved to encompass a broader range of tasks. Over three years, I progressed to become a Team Leader for our General Cargo department. Subsequently, due to an internal restructuring merging the Paper and General Cargo departments, my title transitioned to Team Leader of the Container Department. Alongside, I've taken various courses offered by the company, from Time-Management to Customer Experience, and I'm currently halfway through an additional study in Middle Management, aiming to further enhance my management skills.

3. Why do you like working at FMS?

There are numerous reasons why FMS is a great place to work. Firstly, it feels like a big family - I've developed close relationships with many colleagues. Secondly, every day brings new challenges; I appreciate the autonomy to take on responsibilities and make decisions that contribute to the company's success. Being in the logistics field means experiencing the rapid changes firsthand, and FMS provides an environment where I can be at the forefront of these changes.
