Proactive Supply Chain Management

Case study about the proactive control of a supply chain.

THE TASK:

Importer X had to transport dried banana chips from the Philippines to Germany for muesli production.

THE SOLUTION:

FMS organized the shipment and handled coordination with the factory in General Santos.

THE RESULT:

The factory delivered samples from continuous production by air freight courier to the food laboratory. While FMS organized the provision of containers and transported the goods to the port of loading, the laboratory tested the goods and issued a health certificate. This certificate was then uploaded via the Cruise Control platform, thereby making it available to FMS. This meant the product was then available for final shipment. The customer could be sure that there would be no delays, as FMS handled almost all tasks until the point of standby in the port.
