The Johannesburg team manages shipments across Southern Africa and ensures smooth end-to-end supply chain operations. We handle air and sea imports and exports, container packing, warehousing, local and cross-border transport, and offer in-house customs brokerage. The branch is organised into specialised departments for Air & Sea Operations, Pricing, Transport & Warehousing, Sales & Customer Service, and IT, Finance, Brokerage & Administration.

1. What is your job at FMS Johanensburg ?

I joined FMS five years ago as an Agent Estimator. Since then, I have grown into the role of Estimates Team Leader, where I manage a team of three senior estimators. I also support our global network of agents by providing timely, competitive quotes.

2. What has your professional development at FMS been?

Since joining FMS, I have had the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally. With the company’s support, I completed a one-year General Management course, as well as several short courses, all of which have helped me develop new skills and expand my knowledge across key areas of the business.

Having worked in the freight industry for over 25 years, my experience at FMS has truly stood out as one of growth and continuous learning. I am the Warehouse Manager at the Johannesburg branch, leading a team of dedicated professionals who are customer-focused and take pride in their daily achievements.

1. What is your job at FMS Johannensburg ?

I am a Client Service Air Imports Controller, responsible for the end-to-end coordination of air import shipments. My role ensures the seamless movement of cargo from origin to final delivery, maintaining close communication with clients, overseas offices, airlines, and customs authorities. What sets us apart is our proactive communication and hands-on management. In airfreight, speed is critical and precision is everything. By leveraging our global network, operational expertise, and commitment to client service, we consistently deliver shipments on schedule and within budget.

2. What has your professional development at FMS been?

Since joining FMS, I have strengthened my operational and client service skills within air imports. I have gained confidence in proactively managing challenges, while enhancing my problem-solving, communication, and decision-making abilities. Taking greater ownership and accountability for my shipments has allowed me to grow into a more confident, detail-oriented, and client-focused professional.
