Our import dept. is handling containerized shipments with gc for some new customers in Bremen and distributes pulp which arrives on conventional basis to either Bremen or Brake by mainly rail and sometimes truck. What the export concerns, we're doing everything, from lcl/lcl shipments over fcl containers to special equipment like reefers, flat rack/OT, HT and b/bulk, ro/ro shipments. We offer packing, storage, and all other kinds of value added services. We're focussed on commodities like agriculture, food additives, steel, chemicals and machinery (especially when it comes to high weights and oog). We're doing a lot of project shipments by our experienced and well colleagues.

Why is the FMS Bremen office a great place to work?

The Bremen office is a great place to work as the building has its own history. In former times the famous Tchibo coffee was roasted there. The office is located near the river Weser with walking distance to the legendary stadium of our glorious football team Werder Bremen.

3 questions to Henning Menze, FMS Bremen

1. What is your job at FMS?

I am the department manager (Manager Seafreight Export GC) in the Seafreight General Cargo Export department and I am responsible for a team of 9 experienced logistic operators and 4 apprentices. Our main task is taking care of our customers and provide them the best possible logistic solutions and service at all times.

2. How was your professional development at/before FMS?

I started as an apprentice at FMS Bremen 11 years ago. After my apprenticeship I worked for two years as an operator in our General Cargo Export department. After working for a shipping company for four and a half years, I got the great opportunity to return to FMS and have now been working in my current position for about one year.

3. What makes FMS a great employer for you?

FMS is a company with flat hierarchies in which decisions can be made and implemented very quickly. FMS clearly shows that employee satisfaction is not only a question of corporate attitude and morale, but business success.
