Order Management

Case study about a comprehensible distribution of orders and commissions.

THE TASK:

Importer X and subsidiary Y import goods such as GoPros, night vision devices, and camera equipment for a discount store (importer X), as well as for various technology dealers (subsidiary Y). Importer X had to meet fixed deadlines at a discount store. The suppliers therefore had to be monitored via several query steps (Cargo Ready Date, QC Date Closing, etc.). Instead, subsidiary Y ordered unit quantities that could change over the course of production. Some of the finished goods were shipped in advance by air freight so that the quantities of goods to be ordered and documented could be reduced. The task was to divide orders and jobs in a way that would guarantee a comprehensive overview of them.

THE SOLUTION:

The suppliers, who were primarily based in southern China, had to be checked for all relevant factors concerning the delivery date. In addition, the order data was transferred to Cruise Control and made available for use. This made it possible to modify the order data up to a specified point in time - n days - before shipment. Buyer, seller and service provider were therefore closely connected.

THE RESULT:

Cruise Control incorporated this order data into the newly designed "Order Management System" and made it available to the customer on the same platform. The order data was processed there and each change was recorded. This allowed the customer to make changes to the order at any time and actively intervene.
