Following the discontinuation of one of the Transatlantic services by a major ocean carrier, the overall capacity available on these trade lanes has been significantly reduced. As a consequence, carriers are experiencing exceptionally high vessel utilization, resulting in increasingly constrained space availability and a growing number of cargo rollovers.
In response to these market conditions, most carriers have announced the implementation of a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS), effective from August. Depending on the carrier and routing, the applicable surcharge levels and surcharge descriptions may vary. Furthermore, operational challenges may lead to schedule adjustments and deviations from standard transit times. To minimize the risk of delays and to ensure the best possible planning reliability, we strongly recommend placing your bookings and providing cargo forecasts as early as possible.

Additionally, please be advised that a Low Water Surcharge is currently being applied to shipments routed via Montreal. This surcharge is a result of reduced water levels on the St. Lawrence River, caused by lower seasonal meltwater inflows, which have affected navigational conditions and vessel operations in the region.
