Fr. Meyer's Sohn showed its expertise at transport logistic in Munich

Equipped with its industrial solutions, additional services and Cruise Control product, the forwarding and logistics company presented itself at its own lounge at the transport logistic in Munich.

Paper, cellulose and wood are what the Hamburg-based global forwarding company is best known for. But Fr. Meyer's Sohn ships much more than just forestry products, as FMS presented at its booth at the transport logistic trade fair in Munich.

The company has been around since 1897 and became one of the world's biggest ocean freight forwarders by transporting paper and cellulose products around the globe. Its knowledge and experience has made the company the market leader in this sector of industry.

But Fr. Meyer's Sohn has taken its skills at transporting heavy, sensitive goods and transferred them to other industries too. The company specializes in recycling, metals and minerals, agriculture and food as well as mechanical engineering and consumer products.

While already handling the entire land, air and water transport process, the company offers additional services such as stowage consulting, customs clearance and picking. Transport is adapted to specific customer needs and individually managed.

Fr. Meyer's Sohn places special emphasis on optimizing supply chains. This is done largely by expert consultants who enhance the cost, time and security aspects of transport. Fr. Meyer's Sohn has also developed its own platform, Cruise Control, which enables constant real-time monitoring and optimization of transport.
Cruise Control provides a powerful platform which can depict a customer's individual process chain, and this is combined with methods aimed at continuously improving Logistic Excellence. You could have a view at this platform's diverse solutions at the Fr. Meyer's Sohn booth.
