Fr. Meyer’s Sohn Acquires Front Shipping AS

Fr. Meyer’s Sohn further Strengthens Nordic presence with Acquisition of Norwegian Logistics Company Front Shipping AS.

Hamburg, Germany | Oslo, Norway – March 2026

Fr. Meyer’s Sohn (FMS), the Hamburg-based global logistics company, has announced the acquisition of Norwegian logistics provider Front Shipping AS, headquartered in Oslo. The move marks another strategic step in FMS’s expansion in the Nordic region and strengthens its capabilities in project logistics.

Following the acquisition of a Swedish logistics provider in 2024, the integration of Front Shipping represents the next milestone in building a strong platform across Scandinavia. With three offices in Sweden and now a presence in Norway, FMS is further expanding its footprint and strengthening customer proximity in Northern Europe.

Front Shipping has built a strong reputation in the Norwegian market, particularly in project logistics and container shipping solutions. Combined with FMS’s global network spanning more than 35 countries, this expertise will further enhance the company’s ability to support customers with complex international logistics projects.

“Scandinavia is a strategically and traditionally important region for us, both in terms of industrial development and international trade flows,” said Heiko Voigt, Managing Director of Fr. Meyer’s Sohn. “With the acquisition of Front Shipping, we are further strengthening our regional presence, and moving closer to our customers in this key market.”

The Oslo operation will continue to be led by the existing management team, ensuring continuity for customers and partners while supporting integration into FMS’s global network.

Jarle Aakredalen, Managing Director at Front Shipping, commented: “Joining the FMS network opens up new opportunities for our customers and employees. By combining our regional expertise with FMS’s global capabilities, we can further expand our logistics services and support customers worldwide.”

The acquisition reflects FMS’s continued focus on targeted international growth and the expansion of specialized logistics competencies.
