How many employees work at the branch?

Since the office opened in March 2014, our team has grown from 2 to 13 colleagues.

Are there any staff events at the branch?

In May, we had a great barbeque party in our branch manager's garden. Another team event is in preparation for the late summer. Out traditional Christmas dinner will round off the annual activities.

What kind of jobs are there at the branch and what are typical tasks?

Our core unit is the operative department. Each of the two Air Freight and five Sea Freight employees are responsible for their fixed customer base and assume tasks from the preparation of the offer, the operational handling and communication with customers and service providers up to the billing of the consignments. We are also looking forward to being able to act as a training company again this year. Our team is rounded off by two business development managers and our branch manager. Each team member also has at least one extra task, such as: program superuser, assigned person for dangerous goods, air safety, quality management, training etc.

1. What is your job at FMS Mannheim?

In my position as a Manager of Sales & Customer Service, my team (four employees) and I are responsible for the operational handling of export shipments.

2. How was your professional development at FMS? 

My start at FMS was in May 2014 during the opening of Mannheim office. For me, it was very exciting to see how quickly the branch became successful as it is today. Everyone of us has contributed to this with diligence and dedication. This makes me very proud. In September 2016, I was offered the position of the team leader which I gladly accepted. The new position brings new challenges, which I am always well prepared for due to regular training courses, which FMS offers.

3. What makes FMS a great employer for you?

FMS is a very fair employer. I am allowed to make my own decisions and to optimize my area of responsibility. Especially the positive working atmosphere and the way we communicate in all directions makes it a great place to work. FMS cares for the employees and takes over responsibility for individual development.

Fr. Meyer's Sohn opens warehouse at the Port of Hamburg for its 125th anniversary

From July 2022, Fr. Meyer's Sohn will manage its own warehouse in the direct vicinity of the Port of Hamburg with >10,000 sqm of warehouse space.
