How many employees work at the branch?

Currently we are 15 employees working in the branch in Munich. We have 9 operative employees, one trainee, two business development managers, two department managers as well as one branch manager.

Are there any staff events at the branch?

Yes, we always have a big annual Christmas party with the entire branch and in summer we like to do host barbeques on our office roof top terrace. What kind of jobs are there at the branch and what are typical tasks? In Munich the focus is put on the im- and export of air- and sea Freight, so the typical job position we have is in customer service. They are responsible for everything concerning freight management of our customers. We also have two business development mangers, who are responsible for maintaining and building our client base.

Why is the FMS Munich office a great place to work?

We are an amazing team, with a pleasant working atmosphere and a neat office space. Of course we also have interesting everyday tasks in air and sea freight. The close proximity to the Munich airport (the gate to the world), as well as to the city Munich with its different recreational offers rounds up the great workplace.

3 Questions to Niklas Prasse | Fr. Meyer´s Sohn Munich

1. What is your job at FMS?

As an operator Sales & customer service air freight I am responsible for handling the im- and export of air freight including everything regarding toll. As a responsible for dangerous good I am also contact person for the airfreight transport of dangerous goods of all sorts. In my role as deputy airfreight responsible I am in charge of implementing and supervising the current airfreight regulations for the branch Munich and contact person for the airfreight federal agency.

2. How was your professional development at FMS?

I began as a trainee at FMS Munich and continued to study business administration in Munich besides my work afterwards. Since becoming a full-time employee I have gained a lot of amazing experience working in air freight.

3. What makes FMS a great employer for you?

We have a very pleasant work atmosphere at FMS, in which you can freely develop. FMS is also highly willing to support the continuous education of all its employees.

Boy´s and Girl´s Day 2018 | Fr. Meyer´s Sohn

Last week we hosted the annual Boy’s & Girl’s Day at our Headquarters in Hamburg. 11 school kids had the chance to experience working at FMS for one day. The day was packed with activities ranging from informative talks with our apprentices about our apprenticeship, to an exciting drive around the harbour. Thank you for everyone who participated!
