How many employees work at the branch?

We are 7 staff as well as 2 apprentices in Izmir branch. We are really young team and our age average is 29 years if we leave out the traniees.

Are there any staff events at the branch?

Of course! As Izmir branch we love to celebrate special days and events. On Fridays we lunch with the whole team, we got to happy hours during the week, also we have employee of the month celebrations, motivation work-shops, business anniversaries and birthday celebrations that can be listed. In addition to that, once every year, the FMS Turkey team is all gathered and we have a nice weekend organized for motivation.

What kind of jobs are there at the branch and what are typical tasks?

We are organizing import and export shipments from sales to operations especially in seaways. Business development & sales departments try to aquire more customers as well as income ; operation teams arrange all import and export operation transactions until documentation besides of our branch.

Why is the FMS Izmir office a great place to work?

Izmir is the best city of Turkey where you can find peace, welfare & fun. We are 5 minutes walk to seashore and in lunch time you can take your coffee and have a walk easily by the sea. We are half an hour away from holiday places where people only can go on yearly breaks. After work, we can go to seaside resorts and can go back to work for the following day. Enjoyable and friendly working environment, good working hours, centre-located office and nice team mates are another plus signs.

1. What is your job at FMS?

I am business development manager and vertical manager of agricultural and foodstuff industry. The sales executives and I try to expand our customer profiles, income, sales and profits. Besides new shipments, I also try to focus and increase the number of agricultural and food industry shipments with help of our FMS Turkey team. Pricing & shipment organizations for FMS branches and agents are under our responsibility too.

2. How was your professional development at FMS?

I've been working in FMS Izmir for 5 years. I started at FMS after my graduation from university and worked in the sales department and learned all documentation and operation processes. After 4 years, I positioned as business development manager. From last year to now, I am also Vertical Manager of Agricultural and Foodstuff industry.

3. What makes FMS a great employer for you?

Boy´s and Girl´s Day 2018 | Fr. Meyer´s Sohn

Last week we hosted the annual Boy’s & Girl’s Day at our Headquarters in Hamburg. 11 school kids had the chance to experience working at FMS for one day. The day was packed with activities ranging from informative talks with our apprentices about our apprenticeship, to an exciting drive around the harbour. Thank you for everyone who participated!
